== Relation to genocide ==

The [[United Nations]] does not include cultural genocide in the definition of ''genocide'' used in the 1948 [[Genocide Convention]]:

While not qualifying as genocide under the Convention, the issue is addressed in multiple international treaties, including the [[Geneva Conventions]] and the [[Rome Statute]], which define [[war crime]]s associated with the destruction of culture.
