As of the [[2020 United States census]], 3,417 people, 1,026 households, and 579 families were residing in the CDP. As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2010,  2,299 people lived there. As of the 2000 census, 1,713 people, 662 households, and 464 families resided in the CDP. The [[population density]] was 758.2 people per square mile (292.8/km,<sup>2</sup>). The 743 housing units had an average density of {{convert|328.7|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The [[Race and ethnicity in the United States census|racial makeup]] of the CDP was 74.15% White, 12.72% African American, 0.76% Native American, 0.41% Asian, 10.79% from other races, and 1.17% from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 18.38% of the population.

Of the 662 households, 35.4% had children under 18 living with them, 49.4% were married couples living together, 15.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.3% were not families. About 26.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.1% had someone living alone who was 65 or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.09.

In the CDP, the age distribution was 28.2% under 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 29.1% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females, there were 100 males. For every 100 females 18 and over, there were 96.2 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $35,508, and for a family was $41,458. Males had a median income of $37,244 versus $25,500 for females. The [[per capita income]] for the CDP was $14,851. About 9.2% of families and 13.4% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 16.7% of those under 18 and 20.1% of those 65 or over.
