It follows the Baltimore Pike along a southwest-to-northeast alignment across the northwestern portion of the borough. US 1 leads northeast {{convert|20|mi}} to [[Philadelphia]] and southwest {{convert|13|mi}} to [[Kennett Square, Pennsylvania|Kennett Square]]. [[Chester, Pennsylvania|Chester]] is {{convert|7|mi|0}} to the southeast via Valleybrook Road and Concord Road.
