Antioch is located along the [[San Joaquin River]]–[[Stockton Deepwater Shipping Channel]] at the western end of the [[San Joaquin–Sacramento River Delta]].

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the city has a total area of {{convert|29.9|sqmi|km2}}, of which {{convert|29.2|sqmi|km2}} is land and {{convert|0.8|sqmi|km2|0}}, comprising 2.57%, is water.

===Climate===
Antioch has a [[semi-arid climate]] ([[Köppen climate classification]]: ''BSk'') with hot, dry summers, and mild winters with modest rainfall.<ref>{{Cite journal |last=Kottek |first=M. |last2=J. Antioch's inland location lying in the border of the Central Valley and Bay Area results in hotter temperatures in the summer and colder nights in the winter in contrast to the rest of the Bay Area. However, its location on the delta allows for a slight maritime effect allowing for day time highs to be a few degrees cooler than the neighboring valley cities.
