** The kingfisher family Halcyonidae ([[tree kingfisher]]s) is named after Alcyone, as is the genus ''[[Halcyon (genus)|Halcyon]]''.
** The [[belted kingfisher]]'s Latin species name (''Megaceryle alcyon'') also references her name.
