The [[Neopterygii]], in turn, is divided into the infraclasses [[Holostei]] and [[Teleostei]]. During the [[Mesozoic]] ([[Triassic]], [[Jurassic]], [[Cretaceous]]) and [[Cenozoic]] the teleosts in particular [[evolution of fish#Post Devonian|diversified]] widely.
