* [[July 13]] &ndash; (Ashadh Vadya 1 of Shaka 1582) The [[Battle of Pavan Khind]] takes place in India when a 600-member contingent of the [[Maratha Confederacy|Maratha Empire]] army, commanded by [[Baji Prabhu Deshpande]], works to rescue Maratha General [[Shivaji]], who had escaped the night before from the fort of [[Panhala]], which was under siege by the [[Adilshah|Adilshah Sultanate]].
