The spacecraft operation was organized around a series of missions.<ref name=cassini.equinox.mission/> Each is structured according to a certain amount of funding, goals, etc.<ref name=cassini.equinox.mission/> At least 260 scientists from 17 countries have worked on the ''Cassini–Huygens'' mission; in addition thousands of people overall worked to design, manufacture, and launch the mission.<ref name=cassini.team/>
