Venezuela has a national [[universal health care]] system. [[Infant mortality]] in Venezuela was 19 deaths per 1,000 births for 2014 which was lower than the South American average (To compare: The U.S. figure was 6 deaths per 1,000 births in 2013).<ref name="ciawfb" /> Child [[malnutrition]] was 17%.
