===Cladistic classification===

Another recent system divides all cephalopods into two [[clade]]s. One includes nautilus and most fossil nautiloids. The other clade ([[Neocephalopoda]] or Angusteradulata) is closer to modern coleoids, and includes belemnoids, ammonoids, and many [[orthocerid]] families.
