On 14 October 1773, the [[Commission of National Education]] ({{langx|lt|link=no|Edukacinė komisija}}) was created by the Sejm of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and Grand Duke Stanisław August Poniatowski, who supervised schools and Vilnius University in the Commonwealth.
