Public buses within the city and its suburbs are operated by [[Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited|PMPML]] .In January 2019, Pune became the first Indian city to adopt [[Electric bus|e-buses]] and Bhekrai Nagar became the country's first all electric bus depot. PMPML operates the [[Rainbow BRTS]] system. When launched, it was the first of its kind in India bus rapid transit system in India. [[Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation]] runs buses from stations in Wakdewadi, [[Pune Station Bus Stand|Pune station]] and [[Swargate]] to all major cities and towns in Maharashtra and neighbouring states.
