Durham bus station was located off North Road, a short walk from the cathedral, university and railway station; it was managed and owned by the county council. Durham City [[park and ride|Park and Ride]] consists of three sites (Belmont, Howlands and Sniperley), which are located around the outskirts of the city centre. The Belmont site is closest to the A1(M). Frequent, direct bus services operate up to every 10 minutes between 7am and 7pm (Monday–Saturday).
