Of the 818 newspapers surveyed in 2000 by the Ministry of Information, over 600 had their headquarters in Skopje. The daily {{Lang|mk-latn|[[Dnevnik (Skopje)|Dnevnik]]}}, founded in 1996, with 60,000 runs per day is the most printed in the country. Also based in Skopje, [[Večer (Macedonia)|Večer]] prints 50,000 copies and the state owns one-third of its capital. [[Nova Makedonija]], reprinted 20,000 copies. Other major newspapers in Skopje, totally private, are Utrinski Vesnik (30,000 copies), Vest (25,000 copies), and [[Vreme (newspaper)|Vreme]] (15,000 copies). Founded in 1966, it operates with three national broadcast channels, twenty-four hours a day.
