Primary and secondary education is in the region is governed by the Department of Education-National Capital Region (DepEd-NCR). Meanwhile, the higher educational institutions are under the [[Commission on Higher Education (Philippines)|CHED]]-National Capital Region. The region has the highest literacy rate among all the regions of the Philippines, with 99.2% in 2008.
