To prohibit incest and eugenic reasons, marriage laws have set restrictions for relatives to marry. Kinship relations through marriage is also called "affinity", relationships that arise in one's group of origin, can also be called one's descent group. Some cultures in kinship relationships may be considered to extend out to those who they have economic or political relationships with; or other forms of social connections. This can be conceived of on a more or less literal basis.
