In built-up areas built since the 1950s, local streets and major roadways generally do not conform to the grid system. Major roadways include [[Kingsway (Edmonton)|Kingsway]], [[Yellowhead Trail]] ([[Alberta Highway 16|Highway&nbsp;16]]), [[Whitemud Drive]] and [[Anthony Henday Drive]].
