Since the majority of Pākehā are of British descent, Pākehā cuisine is heavily influenced by [[British cuisine]].

In recent decades international cuisine, including [[Chinese cuisine|Chinese]] and [[Indian cuisine|Indian]], has become popular, and as in many other countries '[[foodie]]' culture has emerged. New Zealand chefs such as [[Peter Gordon (chef)|Peter Gordon]] played a major part in the creation of [[fusion cuisine]].{{citation needed|date=January 2015}}

[[Coffee culture|Café culture]] has grown to be a major element of New Zealand cuisine.
