[[Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.|Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club]] is the city's professional association football team. Notable achievements include winning promotion to the [[Football League First Division]] in 1979 and staying there for four seasons. They reached the [[1983 FA Cup Final]] drawing 2–2 with [[Manchester United F.C.|Manchester United]] before losing in the replay 5 days later.
