===Relocation of PLO===
Following Arafat's decision of June 1982, by September 1982, the PLO had withdrawn most of its forces from West Beirut. Syria backed the anti-Arafat PLO forces of [[Said al-Muragha|Abu Musa]] in the Beka valley from May 1983.
