In addition, rice, cotton, [[sugarcane]], fruit, and vegetables are also grown.<ref name="Agropedia 2013" /> The agricultural output of the Punjab region in Pakistan contributes significantly to Pakistan's GDP. Both Indian and Pakistani Punjab is considered to have the best infrastructure of their respective countries. The Indian state of Punjab is currently the [[List of Indian states and union territories by GDP per capita|16th richest state]] or the eighth richest large state of India.
