The northwestern areas around the river [[Main (river)|Main]], known as the [[Franconia (wine region)|Franconian wine region]], also produce a lot of wine. [[Franconian cuisine|Food typical for the region]] includes [[Bratwurst]] (especially the famous small Nuremberger Bratwurst), [[Schäufele|''Schäuferla'']] (roast pork shoulder), [[Sauerbraten]], dumplings, potato salad (typically made with [[broth]]), fried [[Common carp|carp]], [[Obatzda|Grupfder]] (seasoned cheese spread), ''Presssack'' (a type of [[Head cheese]]: pressed or jellied pork trimmings, like tongue, cheeks, etc.).
