Originally under the administration of the War Department, the park was transferred to the [[National Park Service]] of the [[United States Department of the Interior|Department of the Interior]] in 1933.<ref name="NPSshilohPark">{{cite web |title=Shiloh National Military Park |publisher=National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior |url=https://www.nps.gov/shil/learn/historyculture/shiloh.htm |access-date=2022-08-12}}</ref> The [[American Battlefield Trust]], a non-profit battlefield land preservation organization, has been involved with its partners in saving more than {{convert|1,401|acres}} of the Shiloh and Fallen Timbers battlefields in 30 different transactions from 2001 to 2023.<ref name="ATBshilohBattlefield">{{cite web |title=Shiloh Battlefield |publisher=American Battlefield Trust |url=https://www.battlefields.org/visit/battlefields/shiloh-battlefield |access-date=2023-05-12}}</ref> Sites such as the Bloody Pond, Hornet's Nest and Pittsburg Landing are part of the park. The Shiloh Church at the park is a nearly exact representation of the original, constructed using 150-year-old timber.<ref name="Shaara21">{{harvnb|Shaara|2006|p=21}}</ref> Additional points in the park include Fraley Field, the Peach Orchard, Ruggles' Battery, Grant's Last Line, and the site of Johnston's death.<ref name="Cunningham427-436">{{harvnb|Cunningham|2009|pp=427β436}}</ref> In 2022, the park consisted of over {{convert|5,200|acres}}.<ref name="NPSshilohPark"/> {{clear}}
