[[DCH Regional Medical Center]] is the main medical facility in Tuscaloosa. Operated by the publicly controlled DCH Healthcare Authority, the 610-bed hospital opened in 1916 as the Druid City Infirmary.<ref>The Licensed Bed figures were taken from data from the Hospital Directory of the Alabama Hospital Association.
