====Private schools==== Many [[private school]]s in Sugar Land and the surrounding area are of all types: nonreligious, nonsectarian, Catholic, and Protestant. The [[Texas Education Agency]] has no authority over private-school operations; private schools may or may not be accredited and achievement tests are not required for private school graduating seniors. The [[Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston]] operates two Catholic [[Kβ8 school]]s in Sugar Land: St. Theresa Catholic School and St. Laurence School, both named for two of the city's Catholic parishes.
