== Family ==
Firstly, in 988, he married [[Rozala of Italy|Princess Rozala of Italy]], daughter of [[Berengar II of Italy|Berengar II, King of Italy]].The union didn't produce any children.{{sfn|Vasiliev|1951|pp=233–234}}

He married in 996 [[Bertha of Burgundy]], daughter of [[Conrad I of Burgundy|Conrad I, King of Burgundy]], and [[Matilda of France|Princess Mathilda of France]]. Again, no children were born between the couple.{{sfn|Bouchard|2001|pp=47–48}}

Around 1001/1003, after Robert divorced Bertha, he married [[Constance of Arles]], daughter of [[William I of Provence|William I, Count of Provence.]]{{sfn|Bouchard|2001|p=47}} Constance gave birth to 7 children for the king:
