The Heinlein Society was founded by [[Virginia Heinlein]] on behalf of her husband, to "[[Pay it forward|pay forward]]" the legacy of the writer to future generations of "Heinlein's Children". The foundation has programs to:
* "Promote Heinlein blood drives."
* "Provide educational materials to educators."
* "Promote scholarly research and overall discussion of the works and ideas of Robert Anson Heinlein."

The Heinlein society also established the [[Robert A.
