It operates a chain of museums located in the grounds of [[Rizal Park]] just outside [[Intramuros]], such as the [[National Museum of Fine Arts (Manila)|National Museum of Fine Arts]], the [[National Museum of Anthropology (Manila)|National Museum of Anthropology]] and the [[National Museum of Natural History (Manila)|National Museum of Natural History]]. The National Museum complex occupies the place and buildings that were a part of a new capital center proposed by [[Daniel Burnham]] in 1901.
