The city of Saginaw is served by the Saginaw Public School District, also known as SPSD. The Saginaw Public School District operates twelve elementary schools, two combined elementary/middle schools, two middle schools, one combined middle/high school, and one high school. The district is governed by a seven-member elected board of education. The board selects a [[Superintendent (education)|superintendent]] for the district. The current superintendent is Mr. Nathan Mcclain.<ref name="spsdbuildings">{{cite web |url=http://www.spsd.net/ourschools/schools.htm |title=Our Schools |access-date=January 17, 2013}}</ref> The two public high schools in Saginaw are [[Saginaw United High School]] and the [[Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy]]. [[Michigan Lutheran Seminary]] is the lone private high school in the city. Charter schools in the city are Saginaw Learn to Earn Academy, North Saginaw Charter Academy, Francis Reh Academy, Saginaw Prep schools, and the International Academy of Saginaw.
