===New Zealand=== {{See also|List of King's and Queen's Counsel in New Zealand}} In 2006, the title was renamed [[Senior Counsel]], with the final appointments of Queen's Counsel occurring in 2007, after which the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act (which made the change) came into force. However, the [[2008 New Zealand general election|2008 general election]] resulted in a change of government.
