Morgan was a patron to photographer [[Edward S. Curtis]], offering Curtis $75,000 in 1906 (equivalent to ${{Format price|{{Inflation|index=US-GDP|value=75,000|start_year=1906|r=-4}}}} in {{Inflation/year|US-GDP}}) to create a series on the [[Native Americans in the United States|American Indians]].<ref>{{cite web| title=Biography| url=http://www.fluryco.com/curtis/index.htm| work=Edward S.
