====Malta==== In [[Malta]], the title of Doctor is used by academic doctors (with PhDs), medical practitioners, dentists and lawyers. Its use by lawyers is due to the qualifying degree for practicing law having been the [[Legum Doctor|LLD]] until reforms in 2014, and has been described as "historical baggage" by the Dean of the [[University of Malta]]'s law school.
