Letterman is a car enthusiast and owns an extensive collection. In his 2013 appearance on ''[[Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee]]'', part of [[Jerry Seinfeld]]'s conversation with Letterman was filmed in Letterman's [[Volvo 900 Series#1994–1998|1995 Volvo 960 station wagon]], which is powered by a 380-horsepower racing engine.
