Wingate is located at the intersection of [[Indiana State Road 25]] and [[Indiana State Road 55]] in the northwest corner of Montgomery County, approximately {{convert|13|mi}} northwest of [[Crawfordsville, Indiana|Crawfordsville]], the [[county seat]]. Wingate is the southern terminus of [[Indiana State Road 55|State Road 55]], which runs northwest out of town, leading {{convert|5|mi|0}} to [[Newtown, Indiana|Newtown]]. SR 25 leads south {{convert|6|mi|0}} to [[Waynetown, Indiana|Waynetown]] and northeast {{convert|22|mi}} to [[Lafayette, Indiana|Lafayette]].
