The [[Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders#DSM-III-R .281987.29|DSM-III-R]] (1987) version of the ''[[Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders]]'' (DSM) renamed atypical [[paraphilia]] to paraphilia NOS (not otherwise specified), and provided seven nonexhaustive examples of NOS paraphilias, which included urolagnia.<ref>{{cite book |first=D. [[Paraphilia]]s such as urolagnia have been described as [[sexual fetishism|fetishes]].<ref name="kafka">{{cite journal | last = Kafka |first= M.
