On April 29, 2016, Rovi Corporation announced that it had acquired [[TiVo Inc.]] for $1.1 billion. In December 2019, TiVo Corporation announced their intent to merge with [[Xperi]]. The surviving entity will operate under the Xperi name and have a combined value of $3 billion.
