The [[2020 United States census]] reported that Taft Heights had a population of 1,999. The population density was {{convert|6,753.4|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of Taft Heights was 61.9% [[White Americans|White]], 0.7% [[African Americans|African American]], 1.4% [[Native Americans in the United States|Native American]], 0.5% [[Asian Americans|Asian]], 0.7% [[Pacific Islander Americans|Pacific Islander]], 20.0% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 14.9% from two or more races. The whole population lived in households. There were 684 households, out of which 44.6% included children under the age of 18, 41.1% were married-couple households, 13.7% were [[cohabitation|cohabiting]] couple households, 23.7% had a female householder with no partner present, and 21.5% had a male householder with no partner present. 22.5% of households were one person, and 8.3% were one person aged 65 or older.
