Pardubice is located about {{convert|90|km}} east of [[Prague]]. The city lies at the confluence of the [[Elbe]] and [[Chrudimka]] rivers. There are several fishponds, artificial lakes and [[oxbow lake]]s of the Elbe in the municipal territory.

Pardubice is located in a predominantly flat agricultural lansdscape in the [[East Elbe Table]], in the eastern part of the [[Polabí]] lowland. The highest point is the hill Stropinský vrch at {{convert|258|m|ft|abbr=on}} above sea level, located on the southeastern municipal border.

Pardubice's climate is classified as [[oceanic climate]] ([[Köppen climate classification|Köppen]]: ''Dfb''; [[Trewartha climate classification|Trewartha]]: ''Dcbo''). Among them, the annual average temperature is {{convert|9.7|C}}, the hottest month in July is {{convert|19.8|C}}, and the coldest month is {{convert|-0.3|C}} in January. The annual precipitation is {{convert|573.4|mm}}, of which July is the wettest with {{convert|79.9|mm}}, while February is the driest with only {{convert|30.9|mm}}.
