Gento's two younger brothers, [[Julio Gento|Julio]] (1939–2016) and [[Antonio Gento|Antonio]] (1940–2020) also played football professionally; the latter played for Real Madrid, too, but they were not as successful as their older brother Francisco.<ref>{{Cite web|title=IFFHS|url=https://www.iffhs.com/legends/37|access-date=19 January 2022|website=www.iffhs.com}}</ref>
