It was made a census-designated place (CDP) as of the 1980 census. The population density was {{convert|8.1|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 455 housing units at an average density of {{convert|5.4|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|units |units|}}. The racial makeup of the CDP was 49.47% [[Race (U.S. census)|White]], 2.00% Black or African American, 45.28% [[Race (U.S. census)|Native American]], 0.15% [[Race (U.S. census)|Asian]], 0.74% [[Race (U.S. census)|Pacific Islander]], and 2.36% from two or more races. 0.29% of the population were [[Race (U.S. census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (U.S. census)|Latino]] of any race. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 3.44. In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 35.0% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 34.8% from 25 to 44, 21.8% from 45 to 64, and 3.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females, there were 116.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 121.6 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $53,393, and the median income for a family was $65,000. Males had a median income of $44,375 versus $35,341 for females. About 3.1% of families and 3.7% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 2.9% of those under the age of 18 and none of those 65 and older.
