As of the census of 2010, there were 1,716 people, 705 households, and 503 families residing in the town. The population density was {{convert|31.4|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 810 housing units at an average density of {{convert|14.8|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 96.9% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.3% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.3% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.1% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.3% [[Race (United States Census)|some other race]], and 1.0% from two or more races. Of the 705 households, 28.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.3% were headed by [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.7% were non-families. 23.5% of all households were made up of householders living alone, and 9.0% were someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.42, and the average family size was 2.86.<ref name="Census 2010 DP-1"/>

In the town, the population was spread out, with 22.4% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 19.5% from 25 to 44, 36.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 47.4 years. For every 100 females, there were 95.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.4 males.<ref name="Census 2010 DP-1"/>

Looking at the occupations of employed people in the town over the age of 16, the largest group - 50.9% - is education and health care. The next largest group - 9.6% - is professional, scientific, and management.
