==Politics== Since 1964 the city's government has been led by the Social-Democratic Party [[Social Democratic Party of Germany|SPD]]. The major opposition parties are the Christian Democratic Union Party [[Christian Democratic Union (Germany)|CDU]], the [[German Green Party|Green Party]] and the ''Allgemeine Wählergemeinschaft'' (AWG), an independent local party.
