==Years in Moscow==
In December 1929, he traveled to the [[Soviet Union]], arriving in Moscow in February 1930 to participate in the KMP's second congress.{{sfn|Rainer|2009|p=21}} He rejoined the Communist Party, also becoming a Soviet citizen. He was engaged in agricultural research at the International Agrarian Institute for six years, but also worked in the Hungarian section of the [[Comintern]].{{sfn|Granville|2004|p=21}} He was expelled from the party on 8 January 1936 and worked for the Soviet Statistical Service from the summer of 1936 onward.{{sfn|Rainer|2009|p=28}} Under the codename "Volodia", Nagy served the [[NKVD]] secret police as an informer from 1933 to 1941.{{sfn|Rainer|2009|p=29}}{{sfn|Granville|2004|p=23}}<ref name="Gati, Charles 2006 p. 42">Gati, Charles (2006).
