Each set of the standard is maintained by a language coding agency, which adds codes and changes the status of codes when needed.  ISO 639-6 was withdrawn in 2014,<ref>[http://www.iso.org/iso/home/store/catalogue_tc/catalogue_detail.htm?csnumber=43380 ISO 639-6:2009], [[ISO]].</ref> and not included in ISO 639:2023.
