=== Hydrogen production === The major source of [[hydrogen]] is [[methane]]. Steam reforming of natural gas extracts hydrogen from methane in a high-temperature and pressure tube inside a reformer with a nickel catalyst. Other [[fossil fuel]] sources include coal, [[heavy fuel oil]] and [[naphtha]].
