The European Investment Bank provides long-term [[loan]]s, typically up to 50% of a project's overall cost, for the public and the private sector, and for small and medium-sized businesses through intermediated lending partners.<ref>{{Cite web|title=Financial Instruments|url=https://aecm.eu/guarantees/financial-instruments/|access-date=2021-04-28|publisher=AECM|language=en-GB}}</ref> The EIB's private sector financing of single large investment projects or investment programmes start from €25 million. It offers framework loans starting from €100 million to public sector entities for investment programmes that consist of a number of smaller projects. Loans for both private and public sector projects have to be aligned with one or more priorities of the EIB.
