Ben Gad (1991) p 105.</ref> primarily the sanjaks of [[Hauran Sanjak|Hauran]] and [[Ma'an]]. The inhabitants of northern Transjordan had traditionally associated with Syria, and those of southern Transjordan with the [[Arabian Peninsula]].
