===2020 census===
As of the census of 2020, there were 12,301 people living in the CDP, for a population density of 1,966.90 people per square mile (759.45/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 5,313 housing units. The racial makeup of the CDP was 90.9% [[Race (United States Census)|White]], 3.3% [[Race (United States Census)|Black]] or [[Race (United States Census)|African American]], 0.1% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 1.5% [[Race (United States Census)|Asian]], 0.0% [[Race (United States Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.5% from [[Race (United States Census)|some other race]], and 3.5% from two or more races. 1.6% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.<ref name="2020 census">{{cite web |title=Dent CDP, Ohio - Census Bureau Profile |url=https://data.census.gov/profile/Dent_CDP,_Ohio?g=160XX00US3921742 |publisher=United States Census Bureau |access-date=9 November 2023}}</ref>

There were 4,529 households, out of which 30.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 13.7% had a male householder with no spouse present, and 23.6% had a female householder with no spouse present. 26.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.6% were someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44, and the average family size was 2.97.<ref name="2020 census"/>

25.3% of the CDP's population were under the age of 18, 54.5% were 18 to 64, and 20.2% were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41.7. For every 100 females, there were 94.9 males.<ref name="2020 census"/>

According to the U.S. Census [[American Community Survey]], for the period 2016-2020 the estimated median annual income for a household in the CDP was $80,585, and the median income for a family was $102,331. About 7.6% of the population were living below the [[poverty line]], including 11.8% of those under age 18 and 4.6% of those age 65 or over. About 61.6% of the population were employed, and 40.8% had a bachelor's degree or higher.<ref name="2020 census"/>

As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 7,612 people, 3,190 households, and 2,130 families residing in the CDP. The population density was {{convert|1,267.4|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 3,369 housing units at an average density of {{convert|560.9|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.03% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.68% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.22% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.32% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.03% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.16% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.56% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.42% of the population.

There were 3,190 households, out of which 28.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.8% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 28.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.95.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 22.7% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 15.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $49,048, and the median income for a family was $59,888. Males had a median income of $41,406 versus $31,460 for females.
