The [[population density]] was {{convert|1322.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 1,502 housing units at an average density of {{convert|613.1|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 98.2% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.4% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.4% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.2% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 0.9% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.9% of the population.

There were 1,347 households, of which 29.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.5% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 13.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 38.5% were non-families. 33.9% of all households comprised individuals, and 17.6% had someone who was 65 or older living alone. The average household size was 2.26, and the average family size was 2.86.

The racial makeup of the village was 98.59% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.25% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.19% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.06% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.06% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.85% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.47% of the population.
