===2010 census===
As of the [[census]] of 2010, there were 862 people, 337 households, and 175 families living in the city. The [[population density]] was {{convert|418.4|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 355 housing units at an average density of {{convert|172.3|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the city was 92.0% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.5% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 4.3% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.3% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.5% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 2.4% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.5% of the population.

There were 337 households, of which 24.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 48.1% were non-families. 43.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 25.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.09 and the average family size was 2.82.

The median age in the city was 44.2 years. 18% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 25.2% were from 25 to 44; 21.4% were from 45 to 64; and 27.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 44.8% male and 55.2% female.

The racial makeup of the city was 95.19% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 3.46% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.12% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 1.23% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.62% of the population. 25.1% were of [[germans|German]], 15.3% [[norwegians|Norwegian]], 12.4% [[finns|Finnish]], 9.8% [[swedish people|Swedish]], 6.0% [[Polish people|Polish]] and 5.5% [[Irish people|Irish]] ancestry according to [[Census 2000]].

There were 306 households, out of which 26.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 11.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.5% were non-families. 37.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 23.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 2.93.

The median age was 44. For every 100 females, there were 93.3 males. For every 100 females 18 and over, there were 89.4 males.
